E-invoicing is gathering pace across Southeast Asia. Malaysia has rolled out its requirements in phases, while specified taxpayers in the Philippines face a deadline at the end of 2026 to issue electronic invoices. Singapore is moving forward too: its GST InvoiceNow requirement is progressively making the transmission of invoice data to the tax authority mandatory for GST-registered businesses.
As a regional business hub with its own Peppol-based e-invoicing network, Singapore is a fitting venue for two conferences examining these developments. From 17 to 19 November, the Peppol Conference APAC, organized by OpenPeppol, and the IDT Summit Asia, organized by GENA, will bring together policymakers, service providers and businesses to discuss the region’s reforms, their implementation and the future of cross-border digital trade.

GENA IDT Summit Asia 2026
The Global Exchange Network Association (GENA) is an international association bringing together providers involved in e-invoicing, digital document exchange and related services. Its work focuses in particular on interoperability and the development of connected digital trade networks.
Held immediately after the Peppol conference, the inaugural IDT (Integrated Digital Trade) Summit Asia [↗︎] will take a broader, business-focused look at e-invoicing and integrated digital trade, including regulatory developments, implementing e-invoicing across multiple jurisdictions, continuous transaction controls and digital reporting, cross-border interoperability, and the impact of emerging technologies on finance and tax processes.
The programme also invites corporate end-users to share lessons from international e-invoicing projects in vendor-neutral sessions. Keynotes and networking will bring together participants from the public and private sectors.
